h2. STEP 1. Install the latest version of Joomla.

If you do not already have Joomla, download it from joomla.org.

You MAY be able to auto-install Joomla 2.5 from your web host’s Fantastico De Luxe or Softaculous auto-installer and skip this step. However, Fantastico usually has an older version which is no good to you. YOU MUST INSTALL JOOMLA VERSION 2.5. SEE http://docs.joomla.org/Installing_Joomla_using_an_AutoInstaller

h2. STEP 2. Download the latest STABLE VERSION of VirtueMart onto your personal computer.

Get it from http://dev.virtuemart.net/projects/virtuemart/files - be SURE it is marked STABLE VERSION.

h2. STEP 3. Unzip VirtueMart

Unzip VirtueMart so you can see the two zip files.

This download contains two zip files, which you will upload separately in Step 4 using Joomla Extension Manager.

Double-click the file com_virtuemart.2.0.2_extract_first.zip to see the two zip files inside it, click the EXTRACT Button and save on your computer where you can find them easily:

•	com_virtuemart.2.0.2.zip – the VirtueMart store files, and

•	com_virtuemart.2.0.2_ext_aio.zip – the All In One (AIO) Installer that configures most things the way you need them.

h2. STEP 4. Install VirtueMart extension in Joomla

Log onto your Joomla Administrator using the email address and password you created in the Joomla Install Wizard as follows:

From the Joomla Admin’s top navigation bar, click EXTENSIONS – Extension Manager. Click the BROWSE Button and select the first file to upload, your VirtueMart store files named similar to com_virtuemart.2.x.zip.

Click the UPLOAD & INSTALL button for the first file.

Repeat for the second file to upload, the VirtueMart All In One Installer, com_virtuemart.2.0.2_ext_aio.zip.

You will see the happy success message: "Installing Component Was Successful!"
